Here at Casting Days HQ, everything is buzzing as we prepare for a brand spanking new programme of wonderful workshops! We have some amazing events coming up, perfect for any actor wishing to polish up some skills! Take a look at what’s on offer:

Auditioning Skills and the Casting Process
July 28th, 1.30-4.00
Jermyn Street Theatre

Casting director Aisha Walters (projects include The Impossible, Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror) will discuss the role of the Casting Director and Associate. Ever wish you could see things from the other side of the table? Now’s your chance!
There will be a practical demonstration of audition technique on some pre-prepared scenes, plus a Q&A, focusing on how to market yourself successfully to a casting professional.

Cold Reading for Television 
September 27th, 1.30-4.00
Jermyn Street Theatre

If the idea of cold reading makes you feel cold with fear, then this is the workshop for you! Run by Casting Director Ben Cogan (Holby City, Eastenders, Casualty), you’ll get an insight into the TV casting process and the most common pitfalls!
Then comes the fun! Ben will work with a number of participants on cold reading skills, using a selection of scenes to show how to get the best results from the page and get you the job!

Audition Skills and Top Tips

Etcetera Theatre
A fantastic workshop for those who want to brush up their technique when auditioning for TV and Film. Casting bod Sarah Leung (Children of Men, Batman Begins) will work with attendees on pre-prepped scenes, imparting her wisdom on how to achieve the best audition technique possible. Plus, there’ll be a Q&A afterwards where you can pitch your burning casting questions to Sarah.

We are delighted to welcome Sarah Hughes, Casting Director to Alan Ayckbourn, to Casting Days to run this brilliant workshop. Sarah will be there to discuss the casting process and give her advice regarding dos and don’ts for Actors. With a focus on casting for comedy, Sarah will also look at scenes with some participants to show how to put her advice into practice. Afterwards, Sarah will be on hand to answer any questions you may have! A brilliant opportunity.
